What in your life is worth dying for?
When I think of the ultimate sacrifice as being willing to, much different than wanting to, put one’s self in imminent danger for the sake and safety of others. This sacrifice is the essence of courage and love.
As a veteran, I was fortunate to serve with highly moral and capable leaders, both in the US and overseas. A wise old Staff Sargent schooled me one day that our duty was to fight to the death to preserve another person’s right to say to our face what we abhor. This lesson my friends, is the essence of freedom and what Memorial Day is all about.
What say you?
